Diagnostic Services

We offer a wide variety of diagnostic testing at our facility and partner with the best specialists in the area to ensure you have the best quality care for your pet. . For routine lab work we use Antech Diagnostics, they are a national veterinary laboratory providing accurate results for blood testing, urinalysis, and histopathology, with next day results in most cases. *For emergency cases we also have in-house laboratory capabilities which include CBC (complete blood count) and blood chemistry analyzers for blood glucose, liver and kidney function, along with other organ functions. *Routine in-house testing is available for parvovirus and FeLV/FIV (feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus). Our digital radiology enables us to produce high quality diagnostic images. We have board certified radiologists available to send images if warranted. . We have the capability to run ECG (electrocardiogram) in emergency cases with results reviewed by a board certified cardiologist. Our digital tomometer measures intraocular pressure and allows for a more thorough eye exam when warranted. We also have the capability to check your pets blood pressure if needed.

Surgery

We offer surgery services Monday through Friday by appointment. Each patient will receive a pre-surgical exam. In some cases pre-surgical blood work may be required to evaluate possible underlying risks. Clients are always offered the option of blood work and intravenous fluids as a preventative measure against the possible risks of anesthesia. During surgery your pet’s safety and comfort is our first priority. While under anesthesia your pet will be continuously monitored, by pulse oximeter, respiratory monitor and visual observation. Your pet’s temperature will be maintained using a heated water blanket. Finally your pet will recover from their procedure in a quiet, warm environment with blankets, and fully monitored until completely awake.

Dental Care

Statistics show over 80 percent of dogs and cats have periodontal disease, resulting in inflammation of the gums and the bone that holds the teeth in place. Dental disease causes pain and difficulty eating, and can lead to damage of many organs including the kidney and liver.

For most pets we recommend regular dental cleanings every 12-18 months, for pets 5 years of age and older we recommend dental cleaning every 6 months. Taking a preventive approach can often save your pet from unnecessary pain and disease as well as the cost of extensive care caused by dental neglect.

We offer Dental Cleaning services Monday through Friday, by appointment. Dental cleaning for cats and dogs require anesthesia, just as in surgery, your pet will receive an exam prior to their procedure. Some pets will require pre-anesthetic blood work to evaluate possible underlying risks. All clients will be offered the option of pre-anesthetic blood work and intravenous fluids prior to their pet’s procedure as a preventative measure against the possible risks of anesthesia. A trained veterinary technician will then clean the teeth using an ultrasonic dental scaler to remove tarter on the tooth surfaces; hand scaling will be performed to remove tarter below the gum line. A thorough dental exam is done once the teeth are cleaned, and the doctor will determine whether further treatment or extractions are needed. Finally, the teeth are polished, an important step in slowing the rate of future tarter build up. During the dental procedure your pet’s safety and comfort is our first priority.
